I chose to complete the Gallery Curator project and compile a gallery of art quilts. I do some sewing and quilting and have great admiration for those who can create an amazing work of art simply by sewing pieces of fabric together.
I have seen art quilts at conventions and museums, but I had no idea how many different styles and artists exist. I am amazed at the intricate detail in some of the quilts, and I can only dream of doing something similar one day.
I selected art quilts for my gallery if they met the criteria I had chosen based on the definition of an art quilt. My criteria were no very stringent, so there are many other quilts that could be included, as well.
Most of the quilts in this gallery I included because they seemed to tell some sort of story. Some of the quilts are based on photographs, while others are pure imagination and creativity.
I am not yet comfortable sewing without the aid of a pattern, but perhaps some day...
